Her eyes slip back to the book she was reading "It's a book about sewing.” She shows off the cover. "One of the regulars brought it by but it's so tattered I doubt I can find a customer for it. I couldn't tell her no though, she's such a kind old lady and she really needs the money..."
While you are busy listening to wolf-kin you hear something behind you. One of the cabinets at the far end of the room swings open and a tall human man walks out. His hair is jet-black and hangs in limp curls on either side of his face. His eyes have an icy blue that would usually have been gorgeous to look at if it weren’t for the dark rings under his eyes.
You watch him polish a pair of round spectacles with his apron as he walks out. The structure swinging back soundlessly behind him. His apron…scruffy looking and grey, is covered in bloodstains.
He puts on his glasses and once again you look at those icy blue eyes. He walks up to the counter and notices you, then greets you politely before turning his attention to the wolf lady.
He asks her how the business is and she shrugs, points at you and explains you’re the only one who wandered in today.
He assures her that that will quite be sufficient for what he has in mind. And they both look your way.
You see the man wearing the emblem of the modders…
and you realise you’re in trouble
